Challenge

"All iMIS customers must move to the cloud." - These were the words, more or less, said at a conference for iMIS users.

This statement sparked panic among some of the largest associations and users of the iMIS Association Management System. Most of these long-time customers were on the desktop version of iMIS, and had been for years, even decades.

Moving to the cloud was a massive undertaking, and would require them to change their daily workflows, critical business processes, and the location of their data.

That's when we got the call from a large association in Washington DC.

Strategy

Our approach focused on turning this mandatory migration into an opportunity for modernization and process improvement. Here's what we did:

  • Conducted a full system assessment, including custom integrations, reports, and workflows
  • Analyzed other AMS's to see if iMIS was still the right choice for the association
  • Created a hybrid implementation plan, where some processes could run outside of the cloud, giving the association time to make the switch
  • Redesigned key workflows for the cloud and implemented role-specific training plans

Results

The association successfully migrated to iMIS Cloud with zero data loss and minimal disruption to operations. Staff discovered that the new cloud environment offered advantages they hadn't anticipated, including better integration capabilities and improved mobile access.

Challenge

"We need a system to manage contracts." - these were the words of an Executive Vice President.

These were all the requirements that were given to the Directory of IT, who only knew they needed to find a Contract Management System and fast.

That's when we got the call.

Strategy

Our tasks for this for this involved laying out all the options for Contract Management Systems, from basic, low-cost solutions to enterprise level solutions to utilizing existing, in-house resources.

But our primary goal was to figure out the real requirements for the system. Here's what we did:

  • Prepared and presented the full scope of Contract Management Systems available, in terms of features and costs
  • Built a proof-of-concept Contract Management System using existing technology resources the association already had (Microsoft 365 Power Platform)
  • Presented all options to the Exective Vice President

Results

It turned out there were three key features needed for the system, and bulding a no-code solution using Microsoft Power Platform was the best option. The new system was created and launched within six weeks.

Challenge

"We need to provide online learning to 28,000 members, but we can't afford individual LMS licenses for everyone." - these were the words of the Director of Events.

This was the dilemma presented to us by a national trade association where every individual within their member companies needed access to the LMS. To complicate matters, 90% of the content in the LMS would be free and unable to support LMS licensing fees.

That's when we got the call.

Strategy and Services

Our approach focused on creating a hybrid solution that would provide enterprise-level functionality without the enterprise-level price tag. Here's what we did:

  • Conducted a comprehensive needs assessment to identify core LMS requirements versus "nice-to-have" features
  • Analyzed usage patterns to determine how many concurrent users would realistically access the system
  • Designed a custom authentication layer that integrated with their AMS to validate membership status in real-time
  • Developed a custom backend solution that served content dynamically based on member profiles and progress

Results

The association successfully launched their education platform to all 28,000 members while keeping technology costs within budget.
